Although I have finished my bin cage for my robo, we had an emergency arrive. I was waiting for the megazorb to arrive as delivery said it was today. I was not oing to put wood shavings in to take them back out again.
Anyway, we have a rescue guinea pig in our home now. I have named her Pip. My wife went and fetched her. Pip is seven months old and was with her younger sister and they started fighting. She was put with a rabbit and she started to fight with the rabbit. I got a text message this morning saying she was not wanted by the owners sister, so can I collect her. I sent my wife to fetch her and my son went with her. Pip was on the other side of town and it was two busses there and two back again for my wife and son. I prepared the bin cage as I have a rabbit in the large rabbit cage and I will not put her with a rabbit. The bin cage is an emergency cage for her until next week when I will be buying an indoor rabbit / guinea pig 120 cage. The cage is 4ft long x 2ft wide and 15" high. Plenty of room for Pip. I will have her out every day as she will not be in a cage all the time. I am hoping to toilet train her and have her roaming free in the living room. All this, just after about 2 months I was saying I wount have one as I thought they look ugly. lol. But I think Pip looks cute and my wife loves her.
The substrate is th Megazorb. I like it. It is cardboard pulp and it is very soft. I have it in the hams anf pips cages. I wont put it in the rabbit cage just yet though.
Now I have a winter white hybrid, robo and a guinea pig. lol. The most mamal spieces I have had together at the same time. We had a long haired G Pig a few years ago who was gifted to us but he died after a few weeks. We think the previous owner possibly knew something was wrong and never told us, unless he was just old. His name was Merlin.
