Default Meet Rally:-).

Rally is my new box turtle. She is absolutely STUNNING! I have had her s few days, I just wanted to make sure she was settled before I shared. She is such a good turtle. Haha! I haven't handled her much (just to check her over) and she got a warm bath. Other than that she has been in her hide. Anyways, please welcome Rally .

Rally is so gorgeous. I've never had a turtle but find them fascinating.

Awww Rally is gorgeous, congratulations I adore tortoises and turtles
I have 5 tortoises

Just a bit of really useless info and to show the language difference LOL it appears across the pond there in the beautiful USA you lump them all together and know all the 'shelled' people as turtles Over here in the UK we have different names for them, we call the land dwellers tortoises and the water dwellers turtles
Yep I said it was pretty useless info LOL

Actually, box turtles are terrestrial members of the American pond turtle family (Emydidae), and not members of the tortoise family (Testudinidae). So Rally is actually a turtle, not a tortoise.

Oh yes Sorry Colby I'm so sorry I did realise that
I hope I haven't offended you

A tortoise doesn't spend any time in a pond at all, they can't swim or breath underwater, they live on the land only, although they do have warm soaks in very shallow water to hydrate themselves
Whereas a turtle can swim & breath in water but also is happy on land
I'm pretty sure you knew this
I probably didn't explain myself properly, I'm good at that LOL
I only mentioned it making conversation really because in my understanding a lot of people in the USA know all species as turtles

Rally looks like what we would call here in the UK an Eastern box turtle
And he's pretty gorgeous

I love Rally, Colby. Years ago a good friend of mine had a box turtle. They hybernate in the winter, don't they? Look at those claws!
