Default harvest mice

hi guys,

so yeah, my family and I are considering getting some male harvest mice from a breeder near by. Does anybody have any tips or warnings we shoulld know? this is our first time owning harvest mice so as much help as possible will be appreciated.

(ps. the harvest mice will not be in the same room as my hamster, just in case you were wondering.)

thank you

Since I have very little helpful advice, could I suggest asking the breeder?

The Crittery site is useful for general information about harvest mice and their care (Harvest Mice). If you are planning to have more than one, please read the information about keeping groups carefully - they are prone to falling out.

If you haqve male/female groups, despite the breeder telling you they are only 'seasonal' breeders, will have LOTS & LOTS of babies, and definately NOT just seasonally!

I kept a female with her 3 or 4 (can't remember exact numbers) in a 2ft wooden vivarium after a friend had a group that bred out of control.

Second pic is mummy mouse Hunka Munca in her birthing tank. Third her eating seeds and fourth pregnant belly.

And then we have babies!
