The mouse could chew the coroplast if they reach the edge. It's a risk. That and the bedding and poo would get wedged around the edges if it's just a flat piece. The Guinea pig cage had short coroplast sides and it worked for them because they don't climb or jump.

I might get the Marchioro Kevin for Mort and build the Ikea Lack-Hack for my two girls, if my parents allow it. . .

I have the Marchioro Kevin and I love it! Same with the Marchioro Goran (for hamsters, not mice). Great cages.

I think that sounds like a much better idea

Esmy can I see pictures of it? Do you have it set up for mice or do you know anyone on the forums who has it set up for mice? : 3

I don't know anyone who has one set up for mice. I do have one set up for my Chinese Hamster which is like a mouse. He's in the Goran though (cause I didn't have the Kevin and just got it). The cages are the same size and style though. The Kevin has smaller bar spacing and is a different color.

Oh mai what a lovely set up! I love the hammock and ropes you have in there, I would love to have that for little Prince Mortie Boy! Did you make the hammock or did you order it from someplace like Bobby's Bunny Boutique? I also heard of someplace like The Rat Shack if I'm not mistaken, and they have hammocks? Or correct me with the name as I'mma Google it now~

Thanks! I bought that hammock at Petco (maybe Petsmart), in the ferret section. I do get hammocks made by RittlesNBittles from Etsy. She does an amazing job! She's made two for me so far and is working on a third.
