Re: I found a dog in my garage...
That dog is beautiful Colby. He's been walking for a bit; his nails are so short and he looks scruffy. Poor pup looks tired. I hope he's just lost and hasn't been abandoned. What does Leo think of him? He's way bigger than the reptile that showed up in my house today.

Is it hot where you are? Maybe he found your lovely cool garage and decided it was a good place to flop down and chill off?
I hope you manage to find an owner. Could you take him to a vet or something to see if he has a microchip?
|
Probably. It wasn't hot but it certainly was warm!
Honestly, I can promise he's never been to a vet. Most people just....don't do that here. And no one here knows what a microchip is either. He's also not neutered.

Aww! What a sweety golden retrievers have the best personalities, and are great family dogs. At least that's what he looks like?

Re: I found a dog in my garage...
He's beautiful! Look at all his locks!. LOL. He looks so sweet. I think he found you, Colby, and it does appear he had a long journey to find your garage. Golden long hair retriever, is my guess.

Re: I found a dog in my garage...
Oh really? Thats a shame. I think they are making it compulsory now for all dogs in the UK to have microchips, I didn't realise they didn't do it much in the US.
We seem to rarely see strays. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen one in Britian (you know, actually... straying). If I lived somewhere where there were loads of them, my house would just be full of dogs. I would never be able to send them away!

Yeah and for all the good it will do when it still won't be compulsory to scan them if found. Just another flawed legislation to add to a long, long list
But anyway, back to the dog! Why do dogs just never turn up at my house?! It's not fair! I hope he has an owner out looking for him - I would hate to think that he has been abandoned

Re: I found a dog in my garage...
Yeah, true. A lot of people won't go to the effort. But at least if a dog is found and taken somewhere an organisation or vet can scan it. I know of many dogs and cats who have been reunited with their owners due to a chip. Dogs don't end up wandering for long around here, whether it's the RSPCA, dog warden, or just somebody nice, they are normally picked up. I think it's far more beneficial to have the legislation in place, than to not have it at all. x

Re: I found a dog in my garage...
He looks like a golden retriever to me, breed wise (of course it's been a long time since I was super into dogs) but goldens are really popular in Canada, and I assume the US as well... so it would seem weird, at least for me, to see someone abandon one because they are just so popular? They're inbred to the point of bad health because there's such a demand for them... but I guess the strangest things do happen.
I hope he's not been abandoned, but he's in good hands.
