Default Wheel for mouse?

I was wanting to get my mouse, Yankee, a new wheel. I was just wondering if the 6.5" Silent Spinner would be a good one?

That`s the wheel most mouse owners use and they love them. Just remember to screw off the yellow parts if washing these wheels as the metal screw will rust. They are easy to screw on again. Not too tight though or it can be tricky getting them off again!

I have a comfort wheel and a jumbo rolly in my mouse cage as my girls like to run together and there's not enough room in a SS for a couple of mice and I wouldn't want arguments!

I used the Rolly wheels when I had mice, as you can fit a couple of mice in at once (although they tend to go in different directions, they occasionally get it right! ) I'm not mad on the Silent Spinners myself - I think they are over-priced and that the bit that holds the wheel on the stand is weak and often breaks.

That`s a good point about the Roly wheel or other, wider wheels allowing room for more than one mouse because they do love to run in tandem! Silent Spinners don`t allow the space for two sadly, but if your cage can accommodate more than one wheel, I supoose that`s a compromise.

Silent Spinners are quieter than Roly wheels though, but using a dab of vasiline on the spindle helps.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys I don't have to worry about it fitting more than one mouse, because Yankee lives alone. He used to live with his brother, Doodle, until he tried to kill him. So now they both live alone, and Doodle lives with my cousin. So the bit about the SS only accommodating one mouse doesn't necessarily apply to me Although I do appreciate all of your advice! I'll keep that in mind if I ever get a group of girls

I know you said "If you get a group of girls" but I wanted to mention

My two girls started fighting when they only had one wheel, so now I have two in their cage and the fighting stopped right after I put the other wheel in.

Silent spinner is pretty much the way to go c:
