Advice on Chinchillas
Hi guys,
I've been doing some research into chinchillas but im undecided as to whether they would be the right pet for me. I have the space for a large cage and the time to look after them. I know which products I would buy (mostly from John Hopewells). Was wondering if any Chin owners could help/advise?
I've had all kinds of furries and wanted something a bit different this time. I love rats but I'd rather have a creature that lives for a good amount of time. I understand the basics of Chin care but wanted to know what it's like living with them. It's all well and good reading fact sheets but i'd rather have someone's opinion on what they think of Chins and whether they make good pets.
I know they are not 'cuddly' as such, but surely they can accept some amount of fuss? i.e. scratching their head etc. Opinions seem to mixed as to whether you can handle them. If they were a totally hands-off pet then I wouldn't be interested.
Any help would be appreciated! I always do tons of research before getting a new pet.
Cait x

Re: Advice on Chinchillas
The main thing is would you be prepared to look after your chinchilla for up to 20 years?

Re: Advice on Chinchillas
There ChinTube on youtube for chinchilla videos, they often answer questions in comments and have a ton of videos showing their behavior. I'd love to have a chinchilla one day. ><
