Aw, thanks for updting on the boys shiny, they look great together. I`m sure you will find a friend for Pip soon. Just goes to show that animals either like a new companion or they don`t, a bit like humans then!

The main thing is you have a pair up and running with one to go!

Just an update on our lovely guinea boys

Bertie & Horatio are (touch wood) getting on well. They have a mad five minutes now & then when they take it in turns to do full lap of the cage with popcorns at the far end . They sleep pretty near each other & Bertie is better about sharing with Horatio now although we still get the odd bit of rumbling & chasing. Horatio is getting braver about people, he wasn't much handled before he came to us & is putting on weight nicely. Bertie is also gaining weight which makes me think he is happier to have a friend again.

Little Pip is doing ok too, he has gone up from 300g to 390g last night . We are working quite hard with him on taming now as he had become a bit less keen on being caught from his cage & had nipped a couple of times. He is very happy to sit on laps & eat hay once he has been caught & then curls up & goes to sleep right there on your lap. I think he may just have stolen my heart... We are waiting until he is a bit stronger to get him a friend. He drinks a lot of water & I want to get him checked out properly by our exotics vet & get his urine dipped just in case of diabetes before we try to pair him up with another older rescue boar.

I will pop some more photos on soon.

Thanks vanilla, we think they are lovely boys but we are possibly a bit biased .

We only got guineas for the first time four years ago for my daughter. I never had them growing up & always thought they were a bit boring - it turns out that they are fantastic little animals to have around. Ours live indoors & are always keeping us entertained with their funny little squeaks & lovely personalities. What with them & the guineas I don't know why we bother having a TV any more
