Ruben and Zach had there first meet today it started off as i expected intently sniffing each other then i noticed signs that zach was getting extremely irritated with ruben trying to sniff him so put the divider back in as i new zach was going to start a fight. But at least i know zach well enough now to be able to tell what he is thinking and how he was going to react so leaving it a bit longer and going to start switching them over more frequently but still keeping my fingers crossed as it has only been 3 weeks
That's great to hear Kirsty glad that at least for the first part they were ok and that you were able to recognise when Zach was having enough!! Hope the rest of your intefration steps go well and that the actual attempts do too!!
Unfortunately the introduction hasn't worked out and the 2 keep fighting its more ruben starting the fights not zach. so i chose to re-home ruben luckily someone who breeds gerbils got in contact with me and said she would swap one of her 6 week old males for ruben to see if zach will take to a baby gerbil better just received pics of the 4 males she has was so hard to choose all so cute but went for a honey pied boy who is being picked up tomorrow and ruben goes to his new home
