Found a Dog :D
There was a crash today, so the bus had to go the other way etc, but the bus was in loads of traffic so i gave up and had to walk a 30 min walk home to my nans :/ and when i got to the hill, I found a Jack Russell Terrier, he had a collar with no name unfortunately, so I left him and asked my nan if i could go look for him and try to take him home. so she said yes, I found him on the same hill and he ran up to me, because he was probably so cold he wanted to go home. So I knocked on a door, and the woman said: "No, Sorry!" So when she said that another woman came out by the front door and asked my whos dog that is? and i said im trying to find the owner. and I think the dog was more interested in the asda homedelivery man and then he went up to the door where he lives and the woman opened the door, she said nothing to me!!!!! she didnt say thank you or anything!! horrible thing! and besides that the dog should'nt have been out on a busy road. and i said to my nan: "next time i find him/her (dog) I wont bother to take him/her back i will take the dog to the RSPCA to have a better life and not be in the freezing cold outside in the day but yes! and my brother found a dog the other day and I think he kept it. and then on my home (to my proper house) I found yet again ANOTHER dog!! this one was a scottie? not sure tbh. but then i think the owner turned up. had enough of finding dogs already just because the owner cant be bothered to take him/her out makes me sick!

Indeed Tis' bad these days with animals. but unfortunately owners will never give up. on things like this, most people dont let their dogs walk on their own, obliously many years ago dogs use to be like cats (go out and come back) Naw' days they cannot do this because of all the traffic. I hate people like this, cats fair enough, but dogs NO!

That's what I was going to say.
I once found a dog wondering in the streets, which wasn't afraid of cars, luckily they all stopped for it. Walked it back to where it lived and got told that the owner just lets it wander, and didn't have a fence to keep it in.
I think some people do it instead of walking their dogs.
Glad they all got home safely though

Re: Found a Dog :D
It's awful the amount of stray dogs about. One of my dogs was a stray that was never claimed when reported to the pound. If he hadn't have found us he would have been PTS within 7days. I volunteer on my days off at my local animal rescue and the amount of stray dogs that are dumped/abandoned is unbelievable! Along with the other problems of puppy farming. I would suggest your first point of contact if you find a dog is your local dog warden. In my opinion & experience the RSPCA rarely take stray animals from the general public, they usual advise you to contact your local dog warden. However, these usual work Mon-Fri 9-5pm so if you find a dog out of hours they are next to useless. Our stray was found on a Sunday evening with no dog warden available. He was taken in by a family friend who brought him to us on the Monday morning as they had to go to work & couldn't wait for the dog warden. No one ever claimed him & he never left our house. He now lives a life of luxury, but we have no background on him & do not know where he came from. He's an amazing dog we don't understand why anyone would want to dump him.
Dogs in our area are the same, allowed to run around the streets. I've given up taking them back to their houses & trying to advise them to make their gardens secure because it falls on deaf ears.

Re: Found a Dog :D
Oh my words! I have seen the Jack Russell again today! I honestly was going to take him to the dog shelter because the owners dont deserve him, you can literally feel his bones but when i went to pick the puppy up, he almost bit me :/ so he followed me to his home, and then I knocked the door and said to the woman: "this is the second time I have found your dog, last time you didnt even say thank you to me, why let the dog wander? on a main road where he almost got run over?!" the woman replied "Well, because i have sore legs atm and i cannot take him for a walk!" what an excuse she wasnt even old. and again she didnt say thank you! now tomorrow he WILL be going to the RSPCA, woman cant look after him, so I will take him to a shelter. It is not really healthy for a dog to feel his bones so honestly i dont want the owner to have him. but hopefully now she will keep him in and get someone to walk him.

Re: Found a Dog :D
If they don't keep their dogs in, next time call the dog warden. He or she should come and collect the dog and take it to the local council kennels, where, the owner will have to pay £70 to get the dog back. Soon stops people letting their dog wander
