Hi, sorry to hear about your young piggies. It does sound as though they sold you animals that were already showing signs of illness and they have taken them back because they know a proper vet will cost a small fortune. Chances are they either won`t bother treating them, or they will just use what they have in the store off the shelf. I thought I would link you a lovely site here in the UK about guinea pig care and you may also want to google the name Peter Gurney. Peter was a guinea pig guru until his sad death and the man knew as much as any vet would regarding guinea pigs. I would trust anything the man wrote. Here is the site I wanted to let you see and keep in your favourites:

Guinea Pig Care and Health Information

There are some piggy owners on here who I`m sure will be only too happy to advise you aswell. I would keep on this stores back and decide whether you just want to buy the GP`s anyway regardless of what they say? I know vets can be expensive over there and guinea pigs can be classed as `exotics` by some vets, so researching them as much as you can would be a good move. They require plenty of vegetables and hay 24/7. I wouldn`t feed apple though as I have read it can be too acidic and cause sores at the sides of the mouth.

Let us know how you get on.

Edited to add: The Peter Gurney A - Z of piggy health is actually on the link I posted, so if you scroll down to health, you will see it if you click on the link from the Home page.

UPDATE: So I got my piggies yesterday afternoon i went into the store to return something that wasn`t working properly so i had an excuse to pop in and check up on them without just phoning. They sold me back my piggies which are still sick they offered to treat them in the store because they are on antibiotics but i said i could do it myself. The piggies actually like the medicine so they just eat it up. Trisana still has eye issues i`m hoping the antibiotics will help with it and i`m rinsing the eye out twice a day as well it seems to be getting a bit better with the rinsing. I have two other guinea pigs so I know how to care for them but i`ve not been to that site and will check it out as i do like learning more about them and how to care for them better. You can give them some acidic fruits but only a very small quantity and only like once a week to make sure they don`t get sores. I usually give mine carrots and such as that is their favorite. I'm not putting the sick piggies in the same room even as my other pets nor am i sharing any of their things or touching them with0out washing before and after so they are effectively quarantined. They are a bit calmer now and are eating and everything so I feel better about that. I wish they weren`t sick but I will make sure they get better. Also once i`m home again i`ll post some pics of them. I took some yesterday but was so busy i didn`t get a chance to post them.

be careful with the acidic fruits, as they are harsh on their tummies, and whilst they can have them, there are far better things for them to have. Also remember that carrot is quite sugary, so again should be limited although it always is a firm favourite, and i love being able to share it too!

I'm glad your piggies are back with you and seem to be getting better. How old are they?

My new piggies won`t even eat carrots yet while the other ones looooove carrots. I tried to give them each a leaf of turnip greens yesterday. The older piggies thought i was trying to poison them or something and freaked out and the new ones didn`t care for it too much but i have yet to find a green they will eat much of. They eat their food though and I have vitamin supplements for their water until i find something they will eat. Been busy cleaning cages for the last couple of days and cooking and cleaning which is why i`ve been so quiet. I have pictures of the piggies. They are much better with their medicine. One loves to take it the other is very stubborn and i have to make her take it. Her eye is looking perfect now after the washes and medicine. Going to post this then go through photos and post some of them. The pet store said they were about three months. They are tiny even compared to others i`ve seen at the pet store before though so I`m not so sure.

And here are a few pictures of piggies. Niya and Trisana. Trisana is mostly brown and white and Niya is more black brown and white.

They are gorgeous! What`s that yellow fluffy stuff though? Piggies just need good hay and straw for bedding? I was just a little concerned that the yellow stuff might be the same as the fluffy hamster bedding?

The link I posted also has internal links to the Peter Gurney A to Z health website, which is well written by an experienced keeper, so well worth saving for future reference. Peter`s advice is better than any pet store.

They are gorgeous!!! they do look to be under 3 months though, but obviously its difficult to tell from pics.

As racing hamster said, the cotton bedding, can be dangerous for piggies too, if they eat it, but often piggies aren't nibblers. Still i'd only use it if your 100% sure they wont chew. I'm sure you have hay somewhere there for them though to eat, but if you do choose to use straw as bedding (which personally i wouldn't) please make sure its the soft straw, as piggies are prone to getting straw in their eyes, and it can really hurt them.

I can't remember if you already have or have had piggies before, so sorry if i'm saying things you already know lol (just had my surgery a few days ago so a little loopy on meds).

They are super adorable, i'm glad your in a different country else i may steal lol!!!

It is bedding stuff they don`t chew on it though and have tons of hay to eat which they love they don`t even chew on their toys yet but we`re watching them. The bedding stuff was in a tube thing i bought for them i didn`t buy it special i just liked the tube. The cage bedding or w/e u wanna call it is this paper stuff in balls it came with their cage and i`m switching to a different type once their cage needs to be cleaned just didn`t want to throw it out seemed to wasteful but its super messy and all over the floor. i think they are younger then three months. Once they r off meds will post a picture of them next to older piggies so u can see the size difference better.
