Cute lambs! And I like the red 'rally stripes' on the ewes. (Sorry, city slicker here.)

Ha ha. That's the mark so everyone knows whose sheep it is if it jumps a wall and ends up in another farmer's field OH's mark is a long red "rally stripe"!

Beautiful little ones, I do love their black faces, glad it all ended well & the lamb got the hang of feeding with a little help.

Serendipity, I just remembered that when I was younger (up till my teens) when ever I blew out my candles on my birthday cake and made a wish it was always to have a lamb... i never got one.. why didn't my wish come true If it had come true I have no idea what I would have down with it!!!

You can buy a lamb for about £50 - that is the going rate for this breed at auction markets. It will grow very big though! I did meet a lady once - retired sheep farmers from Scotland. They kept one as a pet and it lived for 32 years and went grey . Lived in the house as well.

We had a lamb many years ago when I was still in my teens, She used to come in the house too (along with the goat!) I can't remember how long she lived but it was a good age & she had lots of lambs herself.

I'd absolutely love to have a lamb! And a goat. For now though I have to be content with three hamsters, a dove and a sparrow.

Just the sheep here (and hamsters) and they’re very much a work situation. Next door has a lot of animals so we’re lucky to look out in a couple of goats, geese and a horse. Most are being kept in sheds now though so they don’t walk all over other people’s land- risk of spreading infection sadly. Good that they are being thoughtful about that though.

We have had lambs in the house. A couple of years ago weather was very bad and some were sick and had to be nurses to health inside in a box next to a radiator. I can tell you they are very noisy! And if they climb out of the box, can create havoc (the sick ones couldn’t climb out but as they recovered they did! I had some sleepless nights sitting up keeping an eye on them. I have a video of one if the recovered lambs from that year, wandering round the kitchen (supervised). Called that one “Noisy”. Their instinct is to try and find a teat to feed from so would stick their head under anything - including the shoe rack!

£50, don't tell me that serendipity... maybe one day when I own my own house... It can have it's own room next to the hamster room
