Question Spraypainting wheels

Hi! I was watching one of Erinsanimals videos and then she said that she had spraypainted her wheel. Is this safe to do and do you need to coat the spraypaint in anything first? Does it have to be a specific kind of paint etc?

Thanks in advance!

I’d go with a a brush-on one that will give more coverage, and make sure that it is water-based. Not sure what is available over there but if you can find something similar to the plastikote enamel paint that should work. The ones safe to use with children toys are probably the ones you want to be looking at.

Okay, thanks.

Is there any way to clean wooden wheels? The ones I've seen have cork on the runway, and I don't know any good way to clean cork.

Yes that’s the problem with them, even when you coat them with several layers of paint they still go dirty over time and can not be cleaned properly. They work for hams that don’t tend to pee in their wheels. With my dwarf who peed in hers I just replaced the wheel every few months even after painting it as it felt unhygienic. I prefer wodent wheels or silent runners for them as they are plastic and come apart entirely for cleaning.
