Default Emotional Support Animal

So next year I go to uni and Tofu will be almost 2 years old. I don't want to leave her especially because she will probably be nearing the end of her life.

I feel like it's quite a scummy thing to do but I'm thinking of getting my Doctor to write a note to say she is an emotional support animal so I can take her to uni halls with me.
Saying she is an emotional support animal isn't a lie because she does make me happy and sometimes she is the only reason I keep fighting my depression. She can also help me calm down from a panic attack.

What are you guys thoughts on this? Do you think it would be wrong to do?
Has anyone had experience with keeping animals whilst at uni?

In my experience, student accommodation isn’t bothered by hamsters, and they can be easily hidden during inspections if needed. I had 4 hamsters and a cat at uni last year!

Yeah they don’t seem to mind really. I know several people who had hamsters in uni but I don’t know about halls or if those hamsters were even allowed. You could just ask though, they’ll probably say that it’s ok providing the hamster stays in the cage.

When I was in uni, hamsters technically weren’t allowed but also since hamsters live in a cage and don’t make much mess, they didn’t mind as long as we didn’t go around telling everyone.

That makes sense, although I can't think how you managed to fit 4 cages in a uni room, the rooms are cupboard sized! I probably would've struggled to fit one hamster in let alone 4!

I was in the same situation in the beginning of the semester. I had my hamster registered with the school as an emotional support animal. It's not a difficult process, and it's not lying if you do have mental health issues and the hamster makes you happy.

I was lucky we had pretty big rooms
