Your birthday sounds wonderful. I'm glad you had your favorite cake, too. I had my very first taste of red velvet cake a few months ago, and it is really delicious. Your parent's gift will give you and your wildlife friends plenty years of happiness. That is lovely that you now have snail babies to look forward to; they probably wanted to present you with a special birthday gift, too, lol. They do populate like crazy so I totally understand you being concerned about overpopulation.
