How do you come up with your hamstery name?
I hope this is in the right section of the forum, pardon my noobness if it is not!
A question for breeders, how did you choose the name of your hamstery? My username is a placeholder for the moment, as I have no idea what to call mine when I breed again. I'm sure it'll come to me some time, but for now I'd like to hear other breeder's stories! ^_^ Thanks for sharing!

ST's Hamstery is a cross over from my Dog Showing Days of ST's Kennels with German Shepherd Dogs, then became ST's Cardigans when I bred and showed Cardigan Welsh Corgi Dogs.

Re: How do you come up with your hamstery name?
Metallica was actually on my list of possible names for a hamster but after I realised that my first two choices of names weren't suitable (Wessex Hamstery or Aquae Sulis Hamstery), I had to think of something else. I think it was a case of 'ending up' with Metallica as that was all I could think of that worked with either 'Hams' or 'Hamstery'.
I'm not sure if it was the best choice and at times I wish I'd have waited a little longer to choose a name in case I'd have come up with anything better but the name has been registered now and that is what I am known as in the showing world.

Re: How do you come up with your hamstery name?
I was originally going to be Fluffle Hams wayy back when I first started thinking about breeding (I originally planned to breed Robos) but then I got my first Chinesey who I named Willow and she had such an impact on me and was such a special little girl that she changed everything. She made me want to breed healthy Chinese hamsters so I chose Willow Tree Hamstery

Re: How do you come up with your hamstery name?
I’ve been naming my hamsters Names of Disney characters my oldest is Gus Gus my Syrian Hamster the mouse from Cinderella and my two Russians are domino and Rufus who are two names of dogs in 101 Dalmations. My past hamsters don’t have Disney names though they were random I was only little when I had them though so I didn’t really think much! They were Rosie, Bert and Ernie! X

My Hamstery is Lilac Dreams Hamstery. Quite simple really, I dream of specializing in Lilac Syrian Hamsters and bringing them back to the UK Show Bench.

Re: How do you come up with your hamstery name?
Vectis is the Roman name for the Isle of Wight, a place I spent many family holidays. Before my first trip as a young child, I imagined the Island as being somewhere near Antarctica and covered in snow, ice and penguins! Soon after starting to show hamsters I fell in love with black-eyed white Chinese hamsters and knew I wanted to work with them in future. With that aim in mind, I just had to name my hamstery after the Isle of 'White'
It has caused a little confusion with people thinking I live on the Island, but I'm not too far away and visit often so Islanders who have wanted hammies from me haven't found it too tricky.
Like Metallica, I was going to be Wessex Hams, but couldn't be
