Default Carolina Storm Wheel for Dwarfs??

I bought a Carolina Storm Wheel cuz I wasn't sure which kind of hammy i would get. I'm not sure if its too big for my 2 Rob is. They currently use a flying saucer and a comfort wheel. I was thinking of getting another silent spinner ( I have 1 but used super glue on it & im afraid they'll rub it on their fur & get ill so its not currently on their tank. Help! I need your input please! I really appreciate it people! 😊

What size is the storm wheel? They can use fairly large wheels provided they spin easily.
I wouldn't use the wheel with super glue on it, probably best to bin that now tbh.
Silent spinners aren't the best wheels anymore as they often don't spin well, have you tried them with the storm wheel to see how they get on?

I think it should be fine They spin well and easily I believe. I have a 9" wheel for our Robo and he runs easily in it. The Carolina Storm wheel has a 10" diameter I think. A Robo can even use a bigger wheel as long as it spins easily. It sounds like a good idea having a wheel that either can use. Although 10" diameter can be too small for some large Syrians but for an average Syrian it's fine.

The other good thing about the Carolina Storm wheel is it's nice and sturdy and you can extend the height so it can sit well above a good depth of substrate and they can burrow under it safely.

I have also seen people recommend a Syrian sized wheel for a pair of robos so they can run in it easily together so less chance of fighting. But if you have a pair you should still have two wheels, even if one is a larger one. So I would suggest having the Carolina storm wheel plus a smaller one as well (not the one with superglue ). And you can have a flying saucer as well but not instead of the second wheel. So it could be an idea to get a second small silent spinner as well - as long as it works ok - some silent spinners these days don't spin well and are stiff. If it doesn't spin well, take it back. Trying them out in a shop might be an idea.

Smile Re: Carolina Storm Wheel for Dwarfs??

Good morning folks! Thank u for your advice. Def agree bout chucking the super glued silent spinner LOL. I won't make that mistake again. I did put CSW in there once & neither used it. I only got them last Fri though. That day they were both using the same flying saucer even though they had 2! Sillies! The girls (sisters) currently have two 6.5 in flying saucer wheels & 1 comfort wheel 8in. (also do have 2 of all, even sand bathis, food dishes, & water bottles). Priscilla uses the same flying saucer everyday & Penelope likes the comfort wheel (8 inches). LOL. do u still think i need to put the CSW in it again? Maybe leave it in longer. I can find a way to do it--prob by removing extra saucer that neither uses really. Thank u for your excellent tip about checking the silent spinner at the store before buying it. I think there's a way to oil them or something, just no more super glue again! No way, $20 went bye bye out window! Penelope flies around the 8 in comfort wheel like acrobat & it scares me when that happens. But ill put CSW in for a couple days. Guess shell learn how to use it if she gets bored enough not having wheel to use. Only have 50 gallon tank---but ill find way to make it work. Do u think a diy popsicle platform is a good idea to add in there to make more space? I can put both their sand baths up there & separate em with a fence in the middle.

Glad to see your wheel problem has been sorted and platforms are a great thing for cages and a 50 gallon tank is a great size. Just make sure the popsicle sticks don't get spoiled by hamster pee
