I was the same as BP, I started then stopped and decided to come back to it today, I hate starting something and not giving myself plenty of time.
Well that's my holiday sorted lol!
That millennium eyesore, money down the drain. It reminds me of the Holyrood Building in Edinburgh, it ended up costing 10 times the original quote and it's an eyesore.
I love the promenade, it's beautiful! So's Opera's Palace.
Totally agree about Michelin Star restaurants, you pay a fortune and still leave hungry lol! The little places are the best.
Thanking you Hamsterita for the tour xx

Oh thank you TL and Cypher, but I couldn't blame you If you hadn't read it, it was too long! I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway

TL If you come I'll show you good restaurants without Michelin stars that are amazing and really cheap

I love reading about the history of places, it wasn't too long.
Those non-michelin star restaurants sound great.

Well I'm glad you could see the videos because my photos aren't impressive.

Yesterday I took a couple of photos from my house.

Back in the day we could see part of the beach, but the building that you can see on the left was built breaking the urbanistic laws, and it's height its taller than it should, so we were left whit less views, years ago they were sentenced to demolish the extra floor, but sadly that's not going to happen.

This part isn't so pretty.

These are the views from my grandpa's house.

They are privileged, but the truth is that they moved there more than 50 years ago, and when they did it, that area was in the outskirts, and they didn't have anything in front of them, the promenade wasn't built... they were in the middle of nowhere. Now it's a pretty and quiet area with all the conveniences that you could wish.

Here's a view from the street that joins my house with my grandpa's house.

You can see how the weather usually is around here. You can see too the local stadium in front of the streetlight.

One day a long long time ago (like 10 years) I went to el Monte de San Pedro to visit the ex military base, and when I was returning home I see this lookout

It was disgusting, because the ground was full of garbage, and I had no idea but apparently it's a placed where people goes to "intimate" (there were proofs on the ground, that's why I knew). Anyway the views were really beautiful and they made up for the disgusting environment.

You can see my grandpa's house (the white long one) and my roof's house in both photos.

I hope you liked them anyway.

Next time I'll show you some photos of food and I'll tell you some bric a brac about them.

And what would you like to see next? Would you like to see some photos of the old military base?

Your pictures are good Hamsterita. It's like seeing the city through your eyes rather than a tourist video (though I did just watch the video again to show my hubby how nice your city is lol). It's a shame that building is obscuring the view from your house, I don't know how people manage to get away with things like that. The view your Grandpa has is beautiful, he even has a nice blue sky

I'm looking forward to seeing some food photos and I don't mind what you show us after that as I love looking at other peoples pictures and hearing all about different things

I think your photos are very impressive Hamsterita, some amazing views too! It is a shame when things get spoilt, I guess that happens almost everywhere but it still looks really lovely.
Looking forward to your food photos now!

This has been very interesting indeed Hamsterita. Thank you for taking the trouble to show us where you live. I have heard the food is very good in your area! Nice that you know good cheap places to eat. Perhaps we should have a group outing from HC. But we cannot leave our hams behind nor bring them with us!

What an amazing view from yours and your grandpa's houses. That HC outing Serendipity sounds so good.

Thanks cypher, BP, Lizzy and Coco. I swear that I'm not being paid by the town hall hahahaha

There is plenty of room here for you and your hams

I think that you maybe missinterpreted me, I was talking about "your" food, but I'm gathering some photos of typical Spanish food too. I've been busy as hell, but I hope I can upload them soon.

Hamsterita, I absolutely LOVE your thread. I enjoyed all the pics and the wonderful information that you shared with all of us. I definitely do not think that it is too long. I can not view the videos, however. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can view them? You are doing a terrific job showing your travels and your city in a unique way, and it is truly appreciated. I have never been to Europe, but I have always dreamed to do so one day. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to see gorgeous places through your eyes.

I am thoroughly looking forward to enjoying this thread, and would love to see and read about anything that you are willing to share with all of us. I do truly love learning about different places, their culture, and their history. Thanks a bunch!!!
