Carpet repair tips?
I began my morning by being woken by the sound of a very angry thumping bunny! I went to investigate the source of her majesty's anger and found a cheeky little Duncan had gotten out of his bin and had proceeded to steal a bunch of Cheerios from a treat bag! I of course scolded the little rascal and put him back into his bin (and secured the loose mesh) but then as I began to open my closet to feed my gerbs, I was welcomed by a huge hole in the carpet! Lovely Duncan ripped out all the carpet fibers in an attempt to enter my closet and has left an unsightly patch. I could hire a professional to come and patch the carpet, but I've always been the DIY type and would like to know if anyone has experienced this and repaired it themselves? I've been keeping a close eye on him as I'm worried that it's possible he ingested some fibers, so far he seems just fine, but the second that changes it's off to the vet for him. All tips are appreciated!

Oh what a naughty boy lol, bad enough he escapes and helps himself to treats but to put a hole in your carpet as well..naughty, naughty
I have wooden floors in my house so I can't offer you any advice on how to repair your carpet I'm afraid but I hope you find a solution
Hope Duncan is ok too! Hopefully he filled himself up with the cheerios and didn't eat any carpet.

Oh yes Duncan is such a lovely ham, but he's such trouble! He's a few months over a year so one would think he'd be slowing down, not becoming even more mischevious. He's still doing well, but I'm going to continue keeping an eye on him. Thanks for the good wishes, I'm going to need some luck to fix this!

I'm in the same situation as Boris, and even when I did have carpet chewed it was in the corner so we kinda just covered it with a box... Good that Duncan is still that active though, shows he's not got any old age related problems and should still be a with you for quite a while.

Re: Carpet repair tips?
Drago, what a "fun and action-packed" morning you had the other day! Thankfully, Queen Bunny's thumping ended up saving the day from getting any more troublesome. What a way to wake up!?! I am so thankful that you were at least able to catch Duncan in the act so you wouldn't have to be worried about finding the "great Houdini". So sorry to hear about the patch in the carpet and possibility of Duncan ingesting some of it. I will definitely be praying that Duncan will be fine and show no signs of sickness.
Unfortunately, I do not have any experience in DIY carpet patching since I thankfully never had the need to require it. If things need fixing in my home, I always hire someone to fix it for me. Good luck with the patching, though. You may want to search on Pinterest or YouTube for a video on this subject since they seem to have practically everything you can imagine for DIYers.

Re: Carpet repair tips?
How big is the hole? I think unless you have another bit of the carpet to fix into the hole it would just be a case of either putting something over it or using carpet tape - which would show. If there's a bit you could snip off from somewhere else you could maybe stick it in the hole - I think they use Copydex to glue carpet.
