Re: Altering pictures to upload
I'm having that problem too Jennie with my new Android tablet, my last tablet was an Android and it never asked me to alter the size.
I'm looking for a solution too, fingers crossed someone has the answer here.

Re: Altering pictures to upload
hi!!!
If I'm on a hurry I use this website Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE!. You can resize by pixels, by size, there are a lot of options and it's very user friendly. The problem is that the more you resize, the more quality you lost (it's not a good program in terms of quality), so it's not the perfect solution. Other programs as photoshop have better options.
Another free alternative and android friendly is Picsart. That's what I use to edit my photos on my mobile phone. Once you download the app and select the photo that you want to edit, on the bottom there are several options, you have to select tools and then resize, but that I know of you can only resize in terms of pixels, so you would have to try and error til you get the right size.
I hope this helps til someone gives a better answer or solution.

Re: Altering pictures to upload
I also use Batch photo It's free but I think it has limited use on the free version and might put a watermark on the photos. It's very good for resizing - not the actual size of the photo on the forum page, but shrinking the file size. Quick and easy. I decided to pay for it as it's a one-off payment for life (about £30 I think) and use it for all sorts of photo editing now.

Re: Altering pictures to upload
I always use PicMonkey to resize photos. It's very easy to use and I can resize my photos as specific as I want.
To add/change a signature photo, click on 'User CP' in the top left corner. On the left-hand toolbar, under 'Settings & Options', click on 'Edit Signature'. There you can customise the words in your signature, or below it, attach a signature photo.
If you can't make your own signature, you can request one here. You may have to wait a while, but it is so worth it.

Re: Altering pictures to upload
Are you resizing it properly? For forum avatars, I use 80 by 80 pixels. For forum signatures, you should use 60 by 468 pixels. For general photos, I resize photos to 500 by 500 pixels so it doesn't stretch the forum and so the files are small enough to load.
Hope this helps !

Re: Altering pictures to upload
I have tried changing the pixels to 465 x 60 but it shows up really tiny instead of being a banner size like yours. Very annoying
