Oh my goodness it came so quick hope everyone remembers it is dangerous for our little ones to hibernate and to do all we can to prevent this happening. Make sure your hamster is not in a draught and in the warmest part of the house especially overnight.

It really is some pretty harsh weather we are seeing, i do hope that everyone will be okay and there will be no casulties over winter. My flat has recently seen the installation of central heating so we are all glad for it.



Can't wait for the ww's morag - literally. i'm really excited about what they'll be like as i have always heard great things about them.

Don't want the weather to get any worse as it is only making your travel much worse along with everyone elses.

my hamsters luckily are in a warmer spot to sleep than me and Dave get!



I hope it snows here, I am not used to snow and still find it fantastic, never really got much in Aylesbury or Colchester, let's hope I do in Manchester :P which reminds me of a question. Can hamsters have warmed foods, if it was only to body temperature or even a bit below that. I feel bad giving them fridge cold things especially at the speed with which the Campbell's eat it down

I have given my hammies extra bedding and there is a radiator in the room.so its nice and warm

I need to give some extra bedding. It's been really frosty cold down here recently. Usually the hammy would live downstairs but because she's new she's living in my room which is lovely and warm, but there will be a time when she has to go downstairs in the understairs "area" and I'm worried because it's quite cold in there.

heh, has been -6 degrees celsius here for days but suddenly warmed up to about 3 degrees celsius today.



my room is so because my parents want me to die of hypothermia and want Skwee to hibernate, and they insist on opening my bedroom window while I'm at college and forgetting about it... and I explain so patiently every time...



my room is usually around 14-18 degrees celsius but does go as high as 24 because my parents (once in a blue moon) leave the heating on long enough to heat my room as well as lounge!



Skwee has extra bedding and gets heated babyfood/weetabix/cornflakes etc in his little bowl.



I swear this hamster is now fat enough to live off his fat reserves

We give lots of extra bedding and they always seem to make a nest to fit the weather. The colder the weather the bigger and fluffier the nest. Ours are in the spare bedroom with a cosy radiator so are fine. We have not had the snow yet in Yorkshire but it is meant to be heading our way and it is very cold and frostyespecially at 6.30am when Pophammy has to be taken for the school bus! Nelson & Bailey are cosily tucked up then but sometimes poke their noses out to say bye!

Aww poor pophammy starts out the same time as me in the morning - still dark grrrr, and dark when I get home too. My hamsters go to bed at 6am so I see them for a brief period each morning.

now that's where I am lucky :P I have been up since 6:30am and Skwee has been up with me running on me or in his wheel as I get ready for college! When I get home he will come out too simply because he loves his attention.
