Default Christmas gift ideas

Just thought we could share gift ideas! I could do with some inspiration. This is one I wanted to share - personalised star wars poster (allows you to add a photo). Either the Force Awakens or the Original Trilogy, in two sizes.

Any ideas for an elderly couple who have everything appreciated. Elderly but have ipads!

A 12 month subscription to a magazine on a topic they're interested in? The gift that keeps on giving...

Or... if they use the kindle app on the iPad maybe a Kindle Unlimited subscription? Apparently I like subscriptions.

I gave my Dad and step-mum a nice lunch last year at a local Michelin recommended restaurant. I got the voucher on Groupon so it was actually not too expensive for the two of them, given that they're retired and could go midweek when the restaurant is quieter as per the voucher's limitations.

Thanks - I also like subscriptions Unfortunately they have a couple of relatives who do that every year. I once got them National Trust membership and they got keen on that afterwards. The last couple of years I've got them tickets for a play or concert but they don't like travelling after dark now.

Could you not get them tickets to an afternoon show? Or, ummm, I dunno! I usually just ask people what they want!

Ooooh yeah a hamper sounds good - you could make one too, like give them each some new slippers, maybe something they like to drink, a hot water bottle. Anything really lol

Anyone want a stupid hamper/hamster story? I'll take that as a yes,

When I was about 4, I went to my brother's school fair and we entered the raffle (20 tickets - we were bound to win something and won a hamper! Me, being a stupid four year old, thought it was a hamster and shouted the whole way home "I won a hamster! I won a hamster!". When we got home, I was very excited to tell my mum we won a hamster and when I told her, she looked a bit shocked lol. I knew it wasn't an actual hamster, but I thought a hamper was pronounced hamster lol .

Hopefully that made someone laugh and I haven't just embarrassed myself.

Ha ha. It's the kind of thing you never forget I grew up thinking Sir Winston Churchill was called Swinston Churchill - and that he looked like Charlie Chaplin. After my Dad, reading a newspaper, told my Mum at breakfast, that Swinston Churchill had died, and on the front cover of the paper was a photo of Charlie Chaplin. It was a very long time ago lol.

Ah. Chesca, that reminds me of a story my parents told about me aged 3 years. At some BBQ party I got very excited about 'hot dogs'. I queued up for one and came running back to my parents in tears saying that I had wanted a hot dog and the lady just gave me a sausage in bread. My parents thought that was very funny but of course they realised the mistake for a child thinking she was going to get a warm puppy!
