Re: Sunflower seeds
Thanks for the link on diabetes Cypher. Will help me with diet. I fed him broccoli last night and this morning it was almost gone. He ate the majority of it. I'll have to try other high fiiber food too. I didn't buy the electrolyte water yet as I like to give him fresh water every night.

Re: Sunflower seeds
I don't quite understand what you're saying about the electrolyte water, if he is drinking & peeing loads he needs that to replenish what's he's losing, not just fluid, so he should have it really.

Re: Sunflower seeds
Ok I'll get it for him right away! Tought that loads of fresh water would be enough but didn't realize that his body is probably flushing out things that he needs to be stable, if I'm getting that right?

Re: Sunflower seeds
That's right but you do need to test him first, refer back to that post by souffle that I gave you the link to, you can see when to give or not give it there, depends on both glucose & ketone levels, it's not really a simple thing to deal with but if you test his urine you should be able to tell what to do.

Re: Sunflower seeds
I didn't see how you had to regularly test urine for pedialyte?
I'll check it again. I'll try to get him out I'm the taming bin for urine samples if I can....
Not going to let this stress me out more than it already does
I just cleaned his cage and I remove handfuls of wet bedding on a regular basis

Re: Sunflower seeds
Sorry CB that I can't really give a complete guide to diabetes management in a thread like this but if you read through the links you have now you should be able to find the info you need.
