Re: New Fridge
Buying new homeward is my favourite thing to do in the world
Ours is combined with our freezer so we have a fridge with 3 shelves and an ice box for veggies on top and a freezer with 4 ice boxes on the bottom

Re: New Fridge
I would love one of those - then the fridge would be at eye level and no bending, but we only have space for an undercounter one. We have a separate undercounter freezer about the same size.
Anyway it's arrived! Right in the middle of breakfast and getting little boy ready for school so he was scrunched up on the sofa keeping out of way while I made a load of space for them to get through in the hallway.
Can't switch it on for four hours apparently So the old one is still connected up full of food in the hallway.

Re: New Fridge
Yay, It's here! Why can't you turn it on for four hours? That seems weird!

Re: New Fridge
Yay! Great to fix a daily annoyance. Not turning it on has something to do with the Oil settling so it doesn't get into the cooling tubes I think. Only if it's been sideways. Enjoy it!

Re: New Fridge
Something to do with the gas being jiggled about during transport (it came all the way from Glasgow). Yes it will be great to fix an annoyance although then you realise it's not quite as simple as sliding the old fridge out and sliding the new one in! Had to dismantle a piece of worktop lol. We never actually got round to fixing the last bit of worktop to the wall and it is partly supported by a cupboard and partly supported by a pile of books on top of the fridge lol!
The new fridge says you mustn't put anything heavy on top. The old one had - a pile of books, a piece of worktop and a large mini oven on top of that. I'm sure it'll be fine - the cupboard takes most of the weight of the worktop.
I've been using the mini oven for years now. I really like it, because it's at waist level, so no bending, but occasionally I wish I had a proper cooker. Maybe one day!

Re: New Fridge
Fridge is installed after a good clean behind where the old one was. It looks exactly the same as the last one lol Until you open the door and there's a bit more space, the shelves don't fall out and an extra door shelf.

Re: New Fridge
Woo woo a new fridge! How exciting. Several years ago I redid the kitchen here a bit. I had a fridge and separate freezer under the counter top. My one determination was to have an upright with the freezer below the fridge so that I did not have to bend down to use the fridge. I was really chuffed by the change so completely understand the thrill.
How is it now it's all up and running?

Re: New Fridge
When I moved house about 3 years ago I had to leave my old fridge behind but part of the house was an American style fridge with it producing Ice and Water! That was one of the things I had always wanted!! How is your new fridge?
