Re: Feeling like a bad owner...
Thankyou everyone, for being so kind and understanding.
Normally I would have taken her to the vets
Honestly I was scared to post here in case I was judged as being a bad owner because I couldnt afford to take my animals to the vets when they were dying... I am so glad that none of you judged me and that you were all so nice and supportive during this time.
I currently have £30 to my name, so I am REALLY hoping I get this job!!! I'm getting so stressed about it all, me and my partner are both having money trouble at the moment, but this is the first time i've ever struggled with it as i'm not at home with dad anymore... Its all so tough... Takes its toll on you for sure!!

Never be scared to post your honesty and feelings here, I have a lot of respect for people who are open and honest.
Looking at the rest of your furry family, all I see is them being well loved and cared for.
Your luck is going to change. Been there with the money trouble myself a few years back and it was a tough time, but, I got through it and so will you.
I've got my fingers crossed for you on getting the job, they'd be crazy not to as you'd be perfect! You've got plenty people rooting for you here xx

Re: Feeling like a bad owner...
Hello hrl20100. I am so sorry to see that Sooty did pass away. It's been a terrible time for you. About 35 years ago I was up all night with my beautiful black Siamese cat. I didn't know what was wrong with him, but I had a baby who was fast asleep, no way to travel and no money. Plus it started at around 1 am. My poor boy scared me silly as I waited for daylight so I could try to get help for him. It didn't happen...he died around 5:30 am. I was devastated. I know now that he probably had kidney stones. But life can be very difficult and sometimes things can be out of our control.
Piebald is right about Sooty not really being aware of much. When animals are really ill they tend to withdraw into themselves and they shut down. They usually know before we do that they are heading towards the Rainbow Bridge. I know that she passed on after having a good life and she was well loved. {{{Hugs}}}

Re: Feeling like a bad owner...
Thankyou all of you so much (i do love this forum!) i really do appreciate it.
I think the group assessment today in petsathome went really well! I wasn't anywhere near as scared as i thought i would be (when i was there anyway, the drive up was terrible, i got lost 3 times and thought i was going to be late. Got in such a panic! Almost had to pull over so i could cry! Haha) i was chatting to a lot of the other people there, as well as a few members of staff too.
There was actually a really nice story that the manager told us all about all the animals there are the stores top priority. She told us a story about a hamster that had somehow severely injured one of its legs. Turns out they actually took it to their vets (vetsforpets) and they amputated the leg and its living a super happy healthy life with one of the members of staff!
I really do have a good feeling about this. I hope i get called for an interview!

They didnt say anything about when the interviews would be done, but I am hoping they make a decision this week. I am so impatient! I just want to find out! I really feel that i'd fit in well there (and because i'm normally so shy that never happens!) so I really really hope I get an interview!
