Default Popsicle sticks?

Went into some shops looking for popsical sticks, but could only find the find colored ones. I am just wondering what sort of coloring is in and them and whether they are safe? I didn't get them, just in case, but also for my hammy project I really really wanted the plain ones!
They are usually sold with children's craft items, which makes me wonder if the colorings on them are non toxic, but nobody I asked seemed to know! Also, where can I get plain ones from?

I get mine from amazon, not at all sure about the coloured ones so I always go for plain.
Try searching for lolly sticks rather than popsicle sticks (or tongue depressors which are the same thing).

Amazon is where I get the bulk of mine but a lot of craft and education supplies places have them.

I haven't looked at many craft places lately but you can get a pack of 100 large ones for less than £2 on amazon with free delivery which isn't bad.

I got a pack of 50 for a house I was making for about £1.50 from Amazon with free Prime delivery

I don't trust the coloured ones because they don't specify what type of dye/ink is used to colour them (soy and vegetable are the only safe ones I know of)

The ones I got weren't on prime but still had free delivery so they work out cheaper, there's actually quite a few different options with free delivery but most work out cheaper than the prime ones, I do love prime but sometimes it's not the best option unless you're really impatient which I have to admit I often am lol!

I get mine in packs of 50 for £1 from HobbyCraft. They're great quality and plain. They work fine for projects.

For inspiration, I would look at ErinsAnimals' website as she has a page dedicated to lollystick craft.
