Spring is here to. I now have three chickens wanting to incubate eggs. We can't have a cockerel in the town due to the crowing/noise complaints.

We have enough chickens now (19) so I am trying to find local people who want chickens so mine can hatch them some. I can get fertile eggs from someone I work with or buy them online.

I haven't seen any ducklings this year at all! Is that weird or do they come out a little later?
Mind you, there is a big lake at the end of the road, and they took out the little island thing that was in the middle where the ducks and swans used to nest, so now the only place to nest is on the bank where there are people, cats, dogs, foxes and possibly other animals too. Maybe that's why?

How great to have chickens CMB. So does that mean you will have some chicks soon? I thought chicks were born earlier. But then lambs here are born much later than most as it's colder here.

I haven't seen any ducklings yet either Pink Neon - it was quite cold last week, maybe everything is a bit late - mind you I haven't been out looking for them either!

Looking quite spring-like today with sunshine.

I REALLY want chickens but my garden is paved and there's definitely not enough room for them, I also live in a terraced house so the neighbours probably wouldn't be very happy. It's definitely a future plan for me though! I love them so much

I've not seen any ducklings either so far, I live near 2 lakes and 2 becks but no sign of them yet. I've seen magpies, blue tits and crows nesting, I just hope they haven't got chicks yet because insects will be hard to find when it's cold.

It is a very nice day today, quite warm too all the birds are out.

Chickens (hens)are not that noisy it's the cockerels that are noisy.

I won't let them hatch chicks for me as we have enough chickens at the moment. If I find someone who does want some I will then get fertile eggs and let them hatch some chicks.

Someone I work with has 5 chicks aged 3 weeks. They will have feathers now and look like a miny chicken. They don't stay fluffy for long.

Aw, My college has some hens, and there's a little farm next to it with free range chickens, they're quite noisy (not as loud as the cockerels though)

I can imagine its difficult to rehome? I think a lot of people want to rescue these days.
