Default Hamster Wheel

I have a syrian, he's probably around five months now, so he's gotten kinda big. I have a comfort wheel right now and I personally don't mind the noise but it's bothering other people in my house. Any recommendations on what would be quieter? Preferably not a flying saucer, as there's not much room in his cage for the size he needs. I'm not sure the large silent spinner will fit either; the cage isn't very tall. I know they're out there, but I can't seem to find any 8" ones. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Exotic Nutrition makes a great new wheel called the Silent Spinner. It is the quietest wheel I've owned aside from the CSE wheel. The smallest one starts at a 9", which is probably better than an 8" wheel for a Syrian. Not sure how tall your cage is, but the 9" Silent Spinner stands just under 10" tall. I have it for my 5 month old Syrian, but will move him to a Carolina Storm Express wheel as he grows.

Kiki means the Silent Runner I have the 12" one for our large Syrian - it's great. Would the 12" one fit in your cage? 8" or 9" sounds a bit small for a large Syrian.

The 12" one stands about 35cm tall on its stand but the wheel itself is 30cm/12" - I have it attached to the bars with the bar fixing plates they sell. It's the standard 12", not the wide one.

Thanks, Kiki and serendipity! I think I'll try out the 9" Silent runner. It's a little hard to tell since he's long haired, but he's still small. Right now I have a 7.5" Comfort Wheel and I feel like it's just a tad too small for him, but I think the 9" will be perfect. Thanks again!
