Re: Upsetting free ad
Aww, those poor babies! I wish I could help somehow. Those cages are incredibly small, as are the wheels. They look fairly healthy though!

Re: Upsetting free ad
These kind of ad`s play on out heartstrings and no wonder. The cages and the wheels are inadequate for a Syrian and they seem to be living in small prisons. I would consider your plan of action and ask them more about the hamsters. At three months old, they are still young, so I`m wondering why they have two? x

Re: Upsetting free ad
Probably 2 kids RH. They each got one with the same gear to reduce sibling rivalry. Then the kids found out the Hamsters were not like the one's in cartoons and too much trouble.

Re: Upsetting free ad
Sounds about right Piebald. Shame on people who do this, they should buy a pram and a doll and be done with it. x

Re: Upsetting free ad
That's awful, poor hams I remember seeing an ad which had two adult female syrians living together. I can't believe some people think it's okay to do things like that. It's pet shops faults really, but you'd think people would have common sense. A human wouldn't want to live their whole life in a box room, so why do people think hamsters would too...
You could ask just to buy the hamsters if you don't want the cages, and have two cages ready for them at home? I'm jst worried someone will buy them and keep them in those small cages.
Edit:
I just messaged a good hamster rescue seeing if they would take them in. She's very good at what she does so I feel completely fine if she's able to take them in. Also If she does take them in, you could reserve them (if you want them) and take them home with you once you have the cages and things and once she's tamed them etc..
Second Edit:
She's going to message them!
Third Edit (lol):
Because she's a rescue, she can't afford pay for animals. But she's going to offer a space for them to the owner (without the cages) and see what she can do. I thought maybe if anyone here would like to help? I'm going to buy some things for their rescue, I'd transfer money but I don't have online banking so it's the best I can do.
Here's a link to her rescue - https://www.facebook.com/groups/2502...97191/?fref=ts

Re: Upsetting free ad
That`s really lovely of the small rescue to contact the seller. I`m guessing though they have cash in mind being the time of the year so we can only hope they will hand the hamsters over and bin the.....prisons.
I`m sure if £20 would buy them, that`s not a lot of money for a quick whip round. Most people wouldn`t think twice paying that in McDonalds. x

Re: Upsetting free ad
I really hope the owners do take the offer of giving away to a good rescue and not too selfish about getting £20.

Re: Upsetting free ad
WinnieTheHam - Thank you so much for contacting the rescue, I have asked to join the rescue group. If the owner refuses to give the hamsters up for free I will give the rescue £20 so they can take them and the cages, and then bin the cages or use them as carriers.
