How?! What?! Why?! ????
There is a wasp. In my living room. A wasp.
I live in England. It is winter. It is currently 2°C outside.
Where did it come from? Why does it exist?!
Well it won't exist for long. My dad put it outside. RIP anomaly wasp.

Oh wow, what a hardy little mystery bug! I hope they aren't evolving to survive in winter, the best thing about winter is the lack of bugs!!!

Re: How?! What?! Why?! ????
It was probably in a state of semi hibernation and your heating system woke it up. Or, it was not hatched-- being in a state of stasis from the cold and the heating hatched it. We had a very warm autumn and it's possible some confused wasps laid very late eggs. That's my theory anyway.

I saw one outside just the other day before it turned cold. Apparently it is a sign of a long hard winter ahead....

Re: How?! What?! Why?! ????
I really hate wasps. I'm not at all surprised that they're still alive so late in the year. A couple of weeks ago, I'd been out shopping and this wasp was flying about me and I swiped my hand at it and thought nothing of it, got home and put my shopping away, a few hours later I went to put my dinner on and opened the fridge to see a wasp on the shelf still moving, I got such a fright. I must've stunned it when I took a swipe at it, I got it into a plastic cup and put outside.

Re: How?! What?! Why?! ????
I was in the GAME shop last week buying a gift voucher and a little boy got stung by a wasp in the shop!! Where it came from I don't know!! It died very quickly after, found it on the floor and the little boys hand had gone white and red bless him. Very strange they are still around, its so cold at the moment!!

Re: How?! What?! Why?! ????
Wasps can hibernate, I've had trouble when I've brought wood in for the fire that half way through the evening they would wake up and start groggily zooming about always huge queen looking ones too. They don't do it at my new place don't think they like how we store our logs here - in a bag not a snug shed

Re: How?! What?! Why?! ????
Oh my gosh, that's so horrible! I was on the bus the other day in England, it was dark and it was snowing. My bus was ahead of time so we stopped for a couple of minutes near a bus stop with a streetlight. Then right there and then I saw a wasp outside, flying at the window in the snow at night! It was crazy! ♥
