Re: Stunned about Paris
When I heard last night, I felt like I was going to be sick. It's just disgusting, and then when I heard Cameron's speech...
My condolences to the families of the ones killed and injured.

Re: Stunned about Paris
Other half hadn't heard about it either - we read the reports on the internet last night. Nice to see Tower Bridge displayed the French colours, and other countries had done the same. It still seems unbelievable, as many people must have been to Paris - one of the safest Cities in Europe - less pick-pocketing than London and not that dangerous at night (except the metro).
It is absolutely awful. I was impressed at how quickly the French Police were at every scene and dealing with things. I cannot understand the killing mentality. Guns should be banned full stop.
I didn't see Cameron's speech - good or not good? I'll check it out.
I lived in France for a few months once and I loved the way complete strangers would be kind to you. One of the phrases I liked most that they used, if you were going to do something difficult was "Courage". Have courage. Outrageous attacking innocent peaceful people.

Re: Stunned about Paris
I'm stunned, the threat now on London is heavy and a state of war may be existing, I am glued to the tv with the news and they have just identified the 2nd attacker. I feel so sorry for the French, they are nice people and don't deserve this.

Cameron's speech is alright, but the thing that bothered me was that he said that a British attack was highly likely. I guess we were going to expect that anyway

Re: Stunned about Paris
I guess anything could happen anywhere. I'm sure the services are on alert. From what I've heard the anti-terrorist people in the Uk keep quite close tabs on anything and we're an Island with tougher immigration - not quite as easy as doing it in France.
Just trying to be reassuring!
