Question Draughts get in the hutch

Sorry this isn't hamster-related, really need to start using a rabbit forum But anyways,

My two rabbits live outside in a two storey hutch and the hutch sits inside a chicken coop/aviary. I leave the hutch door open during the day so the rabbits can run around in the aviary but that's kinda a problem.

The cold is getting through into the hutch since the door is wide open and I'm afraid it'll make the hutch too cold or something.

I'm open for suggestions and ideas though I think it will probably be impossible to answer my question

Thanks!! x

What I do in the winter for my buns, is stuff the bedroom area of the hutch with straw. Literally, I really pack it in! They love it haha
You can also get heatpads which can be placed in the cage under the straw and substrate.
I have my hutches covered over during the worst weather. During the day they have clear plastic sheet (like tarpaulin) so they can see out, but the rain and wind can't get in, and at night they have blue tarpaulin sheet covered over the plastic sheet to make sure they don't get cold!
Maybe just have one door of the cage open?

Do you have a photo of your setup? I could help if I can see how its all laid out

Perhaps you could take the door off the hutch and put a large roof on top of the existing roof that is much longer and wider than the hutch so that it has a nice big overhang to protect it from the weather? Hope that makes sense.

Rabbits are most active at night (like hammies) so its important for them to have access to a run 24/7.

Also clear tarp over the aviary roof as hrl20100 suggested.
