Default I have toothache-fed up

Started getting toothache last night-the same tooth I had root canal treatment on a couple of months ago.

This morning I can't bite down at all so I'm guessing it's infected again which means another trip to the dentist

I'm going to try and find a NHS dentist - very hard round here. Privately it costs over £100 for root canal.

I don't think the dentist filled it properly as it shouldn't be going like this.

So I'm really fed up and didn't sleep well and now have to go to work

ouch, I hope it gets sorted quickly, with the minimum of pain and cost.

teeth can be so much trouble, makes you wonder why we don't all give up and get false ones at times!!

thats terrible!!

the whole mess of dentists really annoys me, if you had that pain in your foot, you would be seen as soon as possible, at most a few hours!

but as it's teeth you wait days and get charegd for it, this is the UKk, we have the NHS supposedly to stop this kind of thing, the dentists need to be stopped and put under control. Yes people can go private like people do with doctors, but that shouldn't have the implications it has with dentists!

(ok rant over it just really annoys me)

I have gone private before but I just can't afford it anymore - last treatment cost £200 and with Christmas round the corner I just can't do it. Its annoying as if I went private I would probably have got seen today. But because I'm going NHS I have to wait until next week!

in agony

Oh Ems I am so sorry I have a sore tooth too - a bit seems to a have cracked and I cannot find a NHS dentist around here. The only one works one half day a week!!! We are churning out tonnes of dentists every year, and they all want to be millionaires and enter private practice sadly The current government has promised to do something about it I just hope it is quickly

My aunt had all her teeth removed when she was pregnant as you apparently get free dental care then but I do think that is a bit drastic - she always hated her teeth mind you and couldn't afford caps.

If your face is very swollen and you are anywhere near a dental hospital they usually have an emergency clinic and you do not have to pay there. Even your GP could provide antibiotics which might help the infection till your appointment. Can you call the dentist and explain you need to be seen sooner and on the NHS? There is nothing worse.. poor you. I would try an emergancy Sat GP visit. Rinse with salty water and bonjela on the sore spot as well as paracetamol every 4 hrs will help.
