Smile Back from the woods

Just got home last night from the province where my grandparents celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Hooray for fifty years!

Aside from the celebration, we also enjoyed some of the town's attractions, or should I say, the town's bodies of water. We went to the beach a couple of times which was just a 5 minutes walk from my grandparents' crib (laughing at my own pun hoping at least one person would also laugh), to a waterfall, and to a river that's enchanting. Well, that's what they call it--Enchanted River. I didn't feel much of it's enchanting vibe though because the place was so crowded. Ok yeah, it was deep and all the people did was dive and jump in the water and dive, and my swimming skills would more probably than not get myself killed. So anyway...

I'm back and I missed my cutiepie P2 so, so much! My cousin complained that P2 was sleeping all the time and that she couldn't play with him though I already told her about hamsters being fond of pulling an all nighter. She also did some changes in P2's cages. P2 has a metal wheel with bumble feet causing spaces (it's the only kind of wheel large enough for a syrian that I can get here in my country) which I put and weaved paper into so it will be safer. They changed the paper with another one covered with letterings and drawings and crayons and ink, and I almost lost my mind. At first, I really thought it was sweet of my cousin and her mother to do that that I forgot ink can be dangerous to hamsters when swallowed. It's a relief though that P2 hasn't chewed yet on the parts with ink.

P2 has also become more friendly than ever! I can not believe it! He must have been really well taken cared of by my lovely cousin while I was away (which makes me question my way of handling him in some way lol). When I went to get him, he was awake to welcome me back and indeed it felt like he did welcome me back. I greet him with my unusual excited high pitched voice, which he recognized and responded with those curious little eyes looking my way. Then I put my hand inside his cage which he sniffed and sniffed and sniffed all the way! My uncle and I chtchatted, my hand still in his open top bin cage while he continued sniffing. I think he missed me.

We got back home, which is literally just next door my cousin's. I noticed P2 was a bit stressed with another change of environment as he was biting and digging furiously so I gave him a treat and left him. I checked up on him again after some time and he's now peacefully sleeping out in the open in his favorite corner.

Home sweet home to the both of us!

PS. My cousin has easily convinced her parents to get her a hamster too. They even wanted to adopt P2. My baby is so charming. Anyway, she will have one soon and I'm so excited for her! Will definitely introduce Hamstercentral to her.

Awww how understandable that your cousin would want a hamster having seeing P2.

Glad you are both nice and settled at home together again.
