Does anybody know the purpose of a emergency service parade?
I've seen hundreds upon hundreds of completely different police vehicles following each other with their lights and sirens on and I noticed some police officers give the public commands like "get off the road, sir/madam" from their speakers (whatever you call them) within their cars even though the said person is not doing anything which I can only assume is part of the parade.
I've asked a lot of people about this and they said it is to show what sort of vehicles they've got and what type of sirens those specific vehicles have. I always thought that all emergency vehicles have the same sirens for some reason. Are any of you police officers, paramedics or fire fighters on this hamster forum? If so, can you please explain the reason of these parades? I find them really interesting and I'd love to know more!
