He was a bit overwhelmed with the change but is definitely loving it! He spent a good while checking out everything, filled his house with bedding and emptied his foodbowl to store all of that in his house as well haha
She said she had never seen him be so active, no wonder if he had been in a small cage that didnt allow it though.

Now, she got a house that is for a dwarf so how he fits in it I have no clue, but he is very determined that this is definitely where he sleeps. She will get him a proper house soon, but all of her money went to the cage and other basics - and it is december!

Knowing proper hamster care is a curse, never have I been so frustrated so many times a month after finding out how easy it is to take care of a hamster and how nobody seems to care/know But I do love to see them be so happy in their cages, using all of their toys haha

I have no clue how my friend puts up with me though, I keep talking about this hamster over and over She is willing to take good care of it now that it's hers though. She named it Castiel, Cass for short (:

A question to all of you syrian owners! What toys do you recommend for a syrian? Anything that can easily be made out of household items? I know you can look in the rat section, but we sorta need a shortcut to some entertainment before we get that far.

The best DIY toy I've ever made is probably just taking some plain old pieces of cardboard, preferably ones without ink or with soy ink if you can't find ones without, and soaking them in some mashed up berries over night. My Syrians have all loved this, so hopefully yours does too!

aww what a wonderful story! I have always wondered why if parents make the decision to get their child a hamster and the child looses interest then it's the parents decision to step up and take over or find a new home for the poor creature! xx
