I have three newfies so I have to clean up a lot of poo but that's the choice I made when I got a dog.

A woman and a whipped-type dog I`ve never seen before walked past my house a week ago. The dog stopped, sat and `done it`s business` right outside the driveway and off they went. Not even a glance! My mother had to go out with a basin of water and slosh the poo onto the road. It annoys and astounds me that these dog owners know they can be fined, but just ignore that law if they think they can just walk on after the deed is done. Like you Lizzy, it`s fear of what the reaction will be and some of these idiots shouldn`t even have a dog. My last dog was a black Labrador and I never left the house without my poo bags and scooper. I did run out of bags on a walk one day and a home owner ranted that I had left some poo by her gate, which I explained and went back and bagged it. So no harm done. But it can raise tensions. Especially when you walk that way each day!

Isn`t it strange though. We have £100 fines for not picking it up, yet nobody to police it! x

I know, it can be really annoying. It makes the streets look messy and it's horrible when you stand in it! I know the majority of people pick it up but some people don't. I don't own a dog but when I'm walking my Gran's dog or my Uncle's dog I always make sure I pick it up.

I saw a seeing eye dog do its business next to the sidewalk near the downtown and I was going to go over and offer to pick it up for the owner, because surely if anyone deserves a free pass for not picking up after their dog it's a blind person, right? Well, she got out a bag and cleaned it up! I later had the chance to ask another blind person with a seeing eye dog about this and he explained how it was done. The dog is trained to stay in one spot while it goes and the owner puts their foot next to the dog's hindquarters, then knows by experience roughly how far to reach with the bag. I was impressed! But even more appalled at the number of sighted people who don't pick up after their dogs. If a blind person can do it, so can they!

That is wonderful BG. No sighted person has any excuse.

Can't believe he gave you the finger :O Some people are so ignorant and think they're dogs can just poo everywhere like pigeons. It really annoys me too, the amount of times I've stepped in it just walking down the street is awful. People like that shouldn't even be allowed to own dogs if they do that repeatedly.

We have a serial offender in our village. It does my head in. The other day I stepped out of the front gate and straight into a pile!! My shoes were fabric - had to chuck them out!
