Have to admit I am kind of an ex teacher too. I trained as an English teacher a few years ago but the career didn't get off the ground. So I do know what you mean about reactions in schools lol! Having said that, there's nothing like distracting the enemy to get results! (Only joking - I like children, but sometimes classroom management means resorting to something whacky to get them to behave when you're a trainee!) I had one class who kept asking me where I lived having seen me turn up in a car piled up with stuff in the back. For the first three months of my course I was living in two youth hostels and a B&B the other two nights as I had to travel about so much between University and schools and had just moved out of my house). Now one thing I was told was - never tell them where you live - so I used to joke and say I lived in a hole in the ground. They loved it! So I kept that one up.

Ooooooh - I taught English too - wonder if there is any correlation to teaching English and being hamster obsessed! Nothing quite like teaching is there! It can be a very rewarding profession but also a very demanding one. It takes true passion and a certain type of person to manage it for the long haul. My brother is a teacher, it's the reason he gets up in the morning and he couldn't imagine doing anything else. For me though while I enjoyed it I found it very stressful and just couldn't see myself doing it for the next 30 years. The sad fact is I make far more money working as an administrator .

Serendipity - I have to agree with keeping them on their toes, I just may pass on that hole in the ground idea to my brother

Kelsits - your BF sounds like a good laugh . To be fair I think most of us have conversations with our hamsters

It seemed perfectly normal to me - but my other half thinks I'm bonkers lol! I showed him the video last night and he said there were too many long boring bits (which there are, which is why it needs editing), but he didn't find the funny bits funny either. I said - you had to be there! He thought I had knocked his house over and came out and glared at me and I said "I didn't do it! It was you!" and he went back in again with a flounce. But then other half works with animals (sheep and sheepdog) so doesn't have time to 'interact' with them as such. I know he has a soft spot though because he won't eat lamb.
We must see that video *cracks whip*

Ha ha! Don't feel bad, I think we've all done that at least once I threw my flat upside down once looking for my reading glasses only to find them in my glasses case where they belonged!

I always greet the girls in the morning, when I go into the lounge, say goodbye when I'm going out with an approximate idea of when I'll be back and of course, wish them a fun filled night when I go off to bed!

I've just sat down after hunting for the two bags of bird food I'd bought the other day for the garden birds, muttering to Bracken, as she is awake about where had I put them etc, only to find them in the bird food box! I'd obviously been in a tidy mood when I got home that day!

I am looking after a friend's budgie, Henry for a few months and he gets included in the greetings/general conversations. I just have to remember that he's the only male in the house. I'm sure my neighbours/postie must think that I am hiding a male in the house as I'll often be saying "cheerio Henry" as I open the front door and as soon as I unlock the door on my return, then I shout out "Hi Henry, how is everyone!"

My family, friends and other acquaintances all ask me how the girls are when they speak to or see me, we're all one happy family, everyone is included! I wouldn't speak some days if I didn't have the girls and for now Henry here with me.

The weather here has been wet and windy and when I was in the post office queue there was a woman in front of me in her slippers lol! She had a proper raincoat on but she forgot about her footwear. Bizarre!
I couldn't find my handbag this morning in it's usual place and when I went to get my coat from the cupboard, I found my handbag on a hanger behind if. Don't recall that!

Lol! I was in stitches again Lizzy..All these slipper incidents...and then boom! You see a woman in her slippers in the post office! Lol!
...I have a theory...I think we hamster people are bit sleep deprived due to our hams hammering on all night, running in their wheels and sabotaging our consciousness...then we, their humans go about our business with our slippers on in public places, hanging handbags in the cupboards, posting keys and running around with only bra and knickers..
Well,I have to say I love the sound of the little feet in the wheel or little nibbling sounds at night time. I feel safe knowing my hammies are there awake while I sleep..

Katmick, I so agree about us hamster people being sleep deprived, twinkle can be very heavy footed on her flying saucer and sometimes she can be so loud , it sounds like horses galloping! It's suppossed to be silent but, I do think she likes an audience watching her spinning, I'll sit by her cage and she'll spin and spin and then she'll look up to see if I'm still watching her and when she sees I am she goes even faster. lol! Talking of slippers, I bought myself another pair, in case I misplace a pair! As for my handbag, I've decided to hang it next to my jackets & coat.

Here it is! (Posted on Charlie's thread as well)

There's more of his out of cage time which I haven't edited yet, plus did a bit when he was back in his cage - it's a bit long and slow and mainly a cage tour because he disappeared inside his house, but he did come out to see what was going on and attacked his kabob then shot back inside his house when the bell rang lol! (Or maybe it was because I laughed at him - oh his ego!)

Glad I made you laugh Kelsits and sorry for your embarrassment on the bus. You know I can even remember which bra I was wearing - pale blue M&S with little bows at the corner of the straps - semi padded - it's imprinted on my brain forever

Ooooh that face! That look when he knocked over the house. I think you're completely right he was totally blaming you . I love the cage tour as well. I think you've done a brilliant job with the space!
