General Announcements/Updates: All Animals!
So general updates/announcements!
-Hamsters
So some of you may have noticed I haven't had a litter in a while, this is mostly because almost all of my hamsters are (closely) related, and I don't want to inbreed much if at all. However, I will hopefully be receiving many hamsters (probably around 4-6, up to 9) from a breeder soon, all Campbell's. Also, I'm taking in a (most likely) pregnant female Syrian soon(my little secret; didn't want to tell you until it was officially going to happen!). I'm dying for a Chinese, but it'll have to wait until I'm more stable as in space and I know how many hamsters I will get from the breeder.
-Mice
You may not know I run a small mousery in addition to the hamstery. It has also been on hold, but the mousery has been "hibernating" since August! Going to get back to work on improving my lines and working on broken patterns in late May.
-Mio(gecko)
I know you all love Mio; it's really nice how much you all care about her! Some of you know (I believe) she had a seizure, but she's fine now, eating and doing very, very well. Her 2nd birthday is on May 21st! My sweet girl will be 2 years old already! Going to spoil her to death that day, lol.
-Chickens
So I have many, many chicks on the way as I prepare for the Stock Market in June. The Tweeses are doing well, sorry about lack or updates but I wanted to let Reese get comfortable before taking taking too many pics. Pics to come soon of them!
Thanks for all the support guys!

Aw yay I've been especially following Mio's story very closely, she's such a cute little gem. I'm glad she's doing better now after the seizure, she's gonna get so spoiled on her birthday!
and wow a pregnant Syrian! How did that happen? I can't wait for pictures of the newborns, you should definitely make a thread in regards to the pregnancy when you get her so we can keep up with what's going on, I love hamster baby photos! Props to you for being such a nice and caring owner!

Haha, yes she is!
The pregnant Syrian story is quite long, I haven't even met or seen the little girl I'm to be taking home soon, but I'll definitely make a thread about it. I've never had a Syrian litter, so it should be fun, haha. I'll also be keeping the mama and maybe a baby as well. I'm getting ahead of myself here though! The ham I take might not even be pregnant. But here's a bit of the story:
So there's this small pet shop chain and it's really bad. So these people take these hams and save them. They can easily find homes for the hamsters, but not the pregnant ones, and they're not going to trick people into getting pregnant hams and not knowing what to do with babies. So I've decided to take a female, since I can care for babies. They're going to pick a very pregnant-looking girl for me, so I have a good chance of saving some babies from being born there. That won't be for a little while though, less than a month, but maybe 3 weeks(tops) before I give an expectant mother a nice forever home .
I'll keep you all updated. Now, don't hate me, but I've actually known about taking a pregnant Syrian in May since January...I didn't want to get your hopes up incase it didn't work out. It's a big commitment, I mean if she has 20 babies that's 21 Syrian hamsters plus Colby plus the dwarfs and their babies! That's a lot of hamsters!
But, I've gotten the OK and have been researching like mad for weeks, lol. I'm half-hoping she'll be a bit tame, it's possible that they'd work with her if they got her in early pregnancy, but they know I'm experienced with hamsters so they might expect me to tame her, lol.
Like, "You've had hamsters for years! Tame her by yourself!" But that's ok, haha. And even if I lose the babies, I'll still have saved a lovely hamster from a bad life, so that's all I need !
Thank you!

Busy, busy, busy. Oh, will you be busy. I can't wait to see new hammy babies. I'm so glad Mio's doing okay. 2 years old is a great milestone.

The best thing to be busy doing is playing with and caring for the animals! Lol.
