Default Re: Lies the Petstore told us!

I went into P@H last week and should have known better as I ended up asking what hammies they had in the adoption centre in the back. Anyway the lady came back saying that there was a robo who has been there since the beginning of January, so of course I asked to see it. She said she didn't know the sex but she would check for me, less than two minutes later she brought the hammie out saying "I have just checked the sex of the hamster and it is a female, I also got two other college's of mine to double check as well." They was no way that she had been in the back long enough to do that, also she spent the next five minutes trying to get the robo out of the cage- in the end I had to do it for her. I didn't complain but I am convinced that she wasn't entirely truthful. Anyway of course I brought her home- I have since checked and think that she is actually a female. But still...

Its awful they refused sale because cage was large, its perfect for a syrian! I feel bad for all the poor hammys that go home with a combi 1 as its on offer for £14 in our p@H. I feel like crying for them

Thinks misinformed in pet store.....

She's definately a girl, she's on heat that why she has a bulging back end... He is a boy!

Ooooh they're just playing...robo bleeding on his back and feet (after being added to a tank of robos that I'd seen there before)....he came home with me and now happily living alone in an Alaska cage safe with loads of toys and 2 wheels!

We prefer you to adopt 2 as they need a friend..referring to chinese dwarfs...I bought 2 a few years ago before I found HC and had to split their 4ft fish tank down the middle!

The cotton bedding is definately the best, would you prefer cold paper or warm soft bedding??....I didn't buy it!

When I was younger, I saw a two Syrians together. I asked the store staff won't they fight? And he said " no, they don't they are super friendly with each other" well that ended great when he dug around the to show me some and found one torn apart and bloody at the very bottom (poor thing)

Um... it's a Poundstretcher where... people often fall over in surprise at the terrible prices in the new bird section and cut their kness.... So there's blood everywhere....

Then they come to us to buy bird seed instead.

Don't £stetcher now have a pet section? I am sure I saw it advertised outside my local one a couple of weeks back. Didn't look though because I'm a huge skeptic when it comes to that place.

Biggest lie I was ever told was that hamsters are cheap animals to house. It should be "Hamsters are cheap animals to house if you want them to be miserable". I was also told it is "unknown" why hams living in groups can fall out, and a mini duna is perfect for two robos to live in.

Yeah they do. :/ Not good for us little pet shop peoples, but its alright. What they have in low prices they lack in quality. Support your small pet shops! :L

Haha, Gazmo. I do try.
