Mom doesn't let me. I have insomnia ( theres a reason I don't really rest when its 1:30 am here. I hate my medications, now mom doesn't allow me any where else but inside my room at night. Should I get my brother to? But he is scared of rodents...

When your pet's health, and even life are at stake, you do whatever you need to do. Ask your brother to do it. Your gran, your mom, anybody! Surely as an adult you have some say in where you go at night?! Especially when there's a rodent (which they clearly don't like) on the loose in their house. Wouldn't they rather he was found sooner than later?

They want my health to be in check, I had to go the the ER 3 times in my life so their being extra cautious. And no, their not worrying about the rodent since... Most of the food is tightly packed away, and what if Tubby creapt out? He moved down to the 1st floor after Tiny sent bedding flying all over the place and the doors leading outside is open 8 hrs a day to circulate air according to my mom and the gates are a tight squeeze for Tubby but escape it still possible. I also taught him how to go down stairs..... He would just fall of the ledge of the short stairs and carry on. I'm literally worried sick.

Hi natukiro,

It's unlikely that'll he'll return to his cage on his own, so there does need to be some changing of routines in your household to try to get him back safe and sound.

Do you have a garden? Have you checked all the areas he could possibly be out there?

I'd be more inclined to focus on the theory that he's still in house somewhere. Set up the bucket trap like DrK said, and leave small amounts of food and water in any other rooms he could have made his way into. Count the seeds etc in each room so you know if any have gone missing.

I really hope you find him safe and sound soon!

If that happened your fridge wouldn't be working. That would mean he bit through the wires. Please just set up a bucket spot in at least one room. He's wandering and he'll find it if he is in the house.

What I did when Peanut escaped (She escaped 3 times -_-) I placed peanutbutter + carrots in a bowl in each room with the door shut. I soon figured out she was in the kitchen when al the carrots in that bowl were gone! I soon found out she was hiding in the box of spices.. don't worry. You'll find Tubby eventually Be sure to look everywhere!

Found him I was so happy to know he was alive. I moved them into a small and bare room to limit their hiding and death chances, after this experience I'm always double checking their cages. About in 20 minutes he stuffed himself with cucumbers (I was afraid he won't drink water and he might have been dehydrated) he was so thin! When I lost him he used to weigh somewhere over 60g and now he was 53g poor little guy and it happened because I was stupid and forgot to close the cage.
