Re: Colby's Animal Fact of the Day
Lol no, I hate them! Our house gets overrun with them- outside, upstairs and downstairs. Especially the cat food. :/

Re: Colby's Animal Fact of the Day
I did a science project on all kinds of ants when I was in College. One of the most fascinating ants was the honeypot ant. This ant is fed honey by the other ants until its abdomen is a huge round ball. The ant then just hangs on the ceiling of the ant nest and when other ants are hungry, they just tap the honeypot ant who then regurgitates some honey for it.

Colby, this is a fascinating thread! I hope you don't mind me taking issue with one of them

I don't mind at all, I'd rather be right than confuse people, haha!

-To escape the grip of a crocodile’s jaw, push your thumb into its eyeballs-it will let you go.
-It is easier for dogs to learn commands if they are given with hand signals.
-Even a small amount of alcohol placed on a scorpion will make it go crazy and sting itself to death!
Haha, I know it's late...you didn't think I forgot, did you?

Re: Colby's Animal Fact of the Day
Ooh!! A random animal facts thread!! I have a ton of random animal facts taking up brain space.
The strongest animal in the world is the Hercules Beetle, a member of the Rhinoceros Beetle family. The Hercules Beetle can lift a whopping 850 times their own weight!!! The males spar with each other over territory and for mating rights, often resulting in the stronger of the two tossing the loser out of the way.
