Ahhh, I keep wishing we could foster. I haven't checked out the shelter's hamsters near us but the one in my hometown only posts ads for females.

On Facebook, many people(well, like 5) beat me to it, thank goodness. I might have not been the nicest person had I had to inform them!

Sadly, no. But my grandmother wants one, she just lives 2 hours away

Re: Concerned for Shelter's Hamsters! And a bit mad.
Someone said, on FB,
"Syrians are territorial. They only bond as babies, they must be separated when they grow."
The shelter responded with
" If raised together from birth, sometimes hamsters can get along together-- as is the case for the three pictured in the photo together. "
I thought they were a good shelter. Guess I was wrong.

Re: Concerned for Shelter's Hamsters! And a bit mad.
I signed up to be a foster with a small animal shelter. Will see if they contact me.
Hopefully the hamsters do manage to get along but I wonder if they are considering how much cage space is needed to try and increase the odds of a happy family? Enough stuff for 3 Syrians to not fight over.

I can say that I am 99.99 percent sure that these hamsters will live in a Crittertrail. Sigh.
Hopefully, you're right. Maybe, just maybe, these hamsters will be lucky

Ughhhh Crittertrails.
Sounds like the shelter has been reading about dwarfs, not Syrians. Hopefully they realise their folly before a big fight happens.

Yep. So many people use them for cages, the only way I'd ever use them is to attach to bigger cages. I'd be fine if they stopped selling them!
