Yeah I certainly wouldn't want to keep essentially predators and prey in the same vicinity as they may both be on edge but having said that I know some people that have done so with no real issues.

All animals carry salmonella so its worthwhile washing hands between any animal and eating/drinking etc and of course cross species - some folk would think I have OCD but its what I do

I don't think I will have a problem being that the reptile is a gecko that is not a carnivore and as I said I will never let me gecko and hamster supplies come into contact with each other and I will NEVER touch one of them or their supplies and then touch the other or others supplies without washing my hands first (I have ocd with germs so I wash my hands more than anyone I've ever known), I don't just wash them once, I wash them until I have a lather for at least 15 seconds with antibacterial soap, then rinse, then repeat that about 4 or 5 more times.....or without using nitrile exam gloves in between handling.
