Adopting robos if my Oh will let me ;)
Okay so I have been wanting robos for like 6 years now but I've never gotten them. I always end up with dwarfs lol. So I have my 2 dwarfies that will be 4 in February, a 2 year old syrian with a lump that my vet has decided isn't worth the risk of surgery at her age, a 4 year old spiny mouse. So really I don't expect to have my babies with me much longer. His thing is that we have quite a few critters. We have 7 guinea pigs and 2 litters of babies, a bunny, 3 adult syrians and 3 babies left from the litter going home next week, 4 dwarfs a gecko and the spiny. So he doesn't want to add anything, but the only breeder of robos here only has babies available about once a year. She has 2 7 week old males looking for a home right now and I've fallen in love. I have a 40 gal long aquarium that I could set up for them the only thing I would need is a few small houses and toys. I've always wanted them and now my OH isn't fond of getting them. Any tips on convincing him? He thinks I'[m trying to replace the ones that we wiill be losing but in reality it's all timing. Babies are available annd I have a tank. And we're new parents so he's worried we won't have the time to tame them.

You might not want to follow my advice, but I don't let other people decide for me... You are the one taking care of them ?? So there you go ! I am lucky enough to have a OH that loves the Minis just like me... His only problem is to be able to sleep at night since few cages are in our room...
It won't happened many other times that Robos are available here, in east Canada... just like when I drove 24 hours to get the Minis... Tell him my story... he might consider getting those instead of the headache of getting some IN ANOTHER PROVINCE !!
Good luck !

He follwed the minis thread with me when you were getting them He just thinks because they're so small and fats and need more room that they'll be harder to tame and need more attention blah blah blah. I'm trying to explain how rare they are and thet IMO syrians are the most attention seeking of hamsters. he's not listening to me lol

Taming wise. Robos are hard to tame no matter the size of tank. A lot of them are 'look but don't touch'. Butsone can be tamed nonetheless
They are a lot faster than you expect and very amusing to watch
Hope you're OH lets you get them

Yeah I typed thhat wrong. I know they're hard to tame.. I had one when I was about 7 and it turned out to be a pregnant female, kept all the females in a colony and eventually they were all tame but it took quite some time and countless bites.

Yup, as previously stated, Robos are little puffballs that zoom around like they have rockets attached to their backs. My little Kousagi is more or less a "look at me go, but don't touch" kind of Robo. She is also very shy by nature, so I let her be. No sense in stressing the both of us out by trying to tame her.

I had 3 girl Robos who loved climbing on me. My 2 boy Robos aren't interested in me at all except to take a treat from my fingers.
