Any news? I used humane traps too, even filled them with cake and crunchy nut cornflake as yhey love them, but some are simply to clever. My only non-killing safe bet is to keep pet mice. Since I have mine we ve never seen any mice here again, they must sense the territory is full.
Another thing is, I am sure you are tidy but oumusg make zure there is absolute no food access whatsoevrr, such as cornflakes in plastic boxes, bread stored asay, all hamster food in plastic boxes as then the mice will get tired and look for the next zmore convenient house. Since I have pet mice I understand a lot better why it is so difficult to get rid of wild mice, mice are very clevef and they can gnaw through concrete Good luck!

My friend had pet mice then some wild mice came in from somewhere (she wasn't an untidy person so they must have been coming from next door) but they squoze through the cage bars and bred with her mice. Apparently the babies were the healthiest mice she ever had though! But getting pet mice won't get rid of them I'm afraid :-\

Not really much news to be honest, the remaining mice are getting as bold as the one we managed to release so we're hoping they'll go in the trap soon. We're trying different kind of bait and different places for the trap every 5-6 days to see if it makes a difference. We've got all the hamster stuff in a massive sealed plastic box and our own stuff in the kitchen where they don't seem to be going for some reason. We're using the vacuum every day as opposed to every few days to try and avoid crumbs too. It really is so hard getting rid of them and being patient. I think I might try getting some plastic boxes for our food to make sure too. Getting some pet mice sounds like a nice way to get rid of the wild ones at least, I don't know what I'd do if the wild mice bred with the pet ones though! glad you got rid of yours njwilde and hope ours soon follow

Sorry but the only way is poison. I have had mice and that was the only thing that worked. I think you just have to harden your heart. And if you still have more than one mouse ... then you have a LOT more than that. They breed like .... mice.

I am starting to worry that we might have to use something a bit harder on them. We did get one in the tilt trap so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for now that we'll get another one soon. I'm really hoping still we won't have to resort to the poison.
