I applied for a job at my local P@H at the beginning of April. I finally got my hours yesterday
Anyway, what attracted me to the position in the first place was the wonderfully friendly staff they have there! Always happy to spend time discussing various aspects of pet care (and offering comfort for 30 year olds blubbing in the middle of their fish aisles due to the loss of her hamsters
). They have just started a massive refit of our local store, due to the addition of a brand new marine aquatics section. This is the area I wanted to work in. To be honest, after all the scare stories I've heard, (and this is going to sound daft
), but I felt a compulsion that those marines needed me
They are not hamsters or normal fish, they have very specific needs i.e. water quality. I worried about customers buying the animals and them not acclimatising them properly, or not realising how large some species can grow, or that a tank cannot be treated for Ich by using copper if corals and inverts lived in there. So many variables! So much stress
I shall be their ambassador
