I've just run over a sparrow.
I feel sick now, poor little thing. I wasn't feeling great anyway after my tummy bug but I needed to go and get the wodent wheels. I was pulling into the car park and I saw him fluttering about to my right - then he just flew under the car
At first I thought I'd missed him but I went back to check and he's dead in the road
I wish I hadn't bothered going for them now, it's made me feel ill, I'd never knowingly kill an animal. I just hope it wasn't a mum with babies in the nest

Aww Holly I know how you feel. It's just so awful when that happens. It is just fate.
I once had a huge chicken jump out of a farmyard right in front of me and I hit it and killed it. It was a real shock. I took it to the farmer and he said they would eat it that night so I guess it wasn't wasted but I can still feel that thump to this day.

Thanks. I still can't stop thinking about it, I've never hit anything before, though I narrowly missed a fox once. I don't really like cars, I like them even less now.

Aw Holly, how awful for you. I ran over a robin this time last year, it flew right in front of the car and when I got out it was dead. I still feel upset when I think about it.
*Hugs* it was an accident.

I hate that feeling you get when you stand on a snail, i once hit a baby bunny that was on the road side. I didnt see it till it was too late and it was night time.
Dont worry too much though, things like this just happen and as a driver its better that you keep driving than swerve or stop suddenly, at least you didnt hit a person.

Don't feel bad - it was an accident. I guess it was just the sparrow's time to leave this world.
I remember on a school trip a sparrow flew right into the windscreen of the bus - it was a horrible thing to see but at least it died instantly..
A couple of years ago, when I was on holiday in Majorca, we were getting a taxi home (had gone to visit my mate who was staying at a diff part) and a sparrow flew into the windscreen of the taxi, and then 5 minutes later, something ran out in front of the car and the taxi driver hit it.. (it was something quite large, but we're not sure what) and screamed (the taxi driver, not the animal!) Anyway, my point is - there's nothing you could've done to prevent it, these things happen.

How awful, I always worry about us hitting birds or foxes or rabbits or something.
It was just an accident though, so no need to feel bad!
