Electrician watched my hamster escape and didn't tell me!

hi everyone..

my landlord after 6 years has decided to finally do some work to my house!

i've had storage heaters, double glazing, new doors, new kitchen cupboards which I'm so pleased about.

i feel like i now live a REAL HOUSE now and I'm not embarrassed to ask people in without them saying why do you have no heating!

anyway, the electrician came round on tues to install the storage heaters.

he was absolutely horrible to me to the degree that i was in tears at one point.

the hams live in my room and i sald to him nicely that i don't let the cats in for obvious reasons.

after the heaters had been installed i went to check on the hams and i noticed that my cat bob had managed to climb on the roof and get in through the bedroom window ( i've no idea how he managed to get in through the tiny gap)

i went to grab him and thought what's he growling at, the cat had knocked the cage, Jerry the Chinese had got out and he was standing there growling at the ham while he was hiding in a corner.

the electrician came upstairs to get his tools saw what was going on and sald oh yeah i saw the cat knock the cage and i saw the hamster climb out but it was well funny watching the cat chase the hamster!

i sald why didn't you shout me?

well i thought you would find it eventually was his reply!

i was nearly in tears and he was laughing!

i've got this 'lovely' person coming again on Monday (only him in the company so i can't change) and I'm absoloutly dreading it, I'm so mad that he thought my hamster been chased by the cat was funny!

Is Jerry ok? I think you should complain hun to who sent him. Im sorry he upset you. Some people are just incredibly unkind.

He would NOT be returning to my place had that been me! I would have shouted him out the door on the spot. People should not be disrespectful in your home when they come in to work, and nearly having you in tears is not acceptable. Is this a workman or the actual landlord? If it's just a worker I'd demand the landlord hire someone else. (I've also had issues with my landlord/rental company so I feel your pain)

Is Jerry doing ok now?

I think you can judge people by how they are with animals... Hopefully in his next life he will come back as a mouse In a house full of cats :0).

Did the landlord send him? Is it possible to complain to the landlord and request a different company? I would not want that man in my house again. Just thinking about what could have happened, I would have been shaking from frustration and anger. He completely disregarded what you said about the cat and that room and disrespected you and your pets in your own home. There's got to be somewhere you can complain, surely? I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope your hamster is okay.
