Smile Any members from Newcastle / Gateshead area?

Hi,

I was just wondering if there are any HC members from Newcastle / Gateshead and if so, could you recommend any good pet shops that are local?

The pet shop just down the road from me, where I got Leeloo, doesn't seem to have much variety for hammies and to be totally honest I'm not a huge fan of going in there too often as it doesn't appear to be well kept, everytime I go in I notice a million spiders hiding away amongst the products so I feel the need to disinfect anything before I use it (I'm utterly terrified of spiders!).

I can't really do any internet shopping as I don't have a bank account, I use a building society and don't really want a bank account until I finish Uni. Also, I don't drive

Thanks

I live in Durham I use shops like B@M, Pound strecher, pound land for hamster products as I dont like P@H. I would also like to know it there are any good shops. there is a place at Hexham that is really good but its prob to far for you.

This may me look silly but what's B@M? I'm not a fan of P@H either so I try to use local and independent shops but I am always disappointed. For his everyday needs like food, bedding and shavings etc I use a cash and carry as they sell all the branded things really cheaply they just don't sell toys etc.

I know Hexham quite well as I used to live in that area but it is slightly too far for me these days.

I've already 'liked' your facebook page and had a good spy at your photo's! Soo cute

I would love to do something similar but I think my husband and my landlord would go crazy at me!

There is a pet shop in Grainger Market, if you go in one of the entrances on Nun Street and turn right its in the far corner. It sells tiny rabbit hutches but at least it doesn't sell any actual animals. Has quite a good range of small animal bits, including chinchilla sand by the kg which is a lot cheaper than the branded stuff.
